The HTC has launched its most awaited brand new Droid DNA Smartphone on this November 2012. Now it’s time to look at the phone in somewhat deep. It’s strange to say that the HTC Droid DNA could not do justice over its previously available Smartphones such as One X, One S or HTC Rezound. Let us first have a look at the main features of this Smartphone.
General Features
The networks supported are 2G (obviously), 3G and also 4G network with LTE 700. The GPRS and EDGE data networks are also enabled.
The software
The HTC Droid DNA Smartphone comes with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Operating System and can be upgraded to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The user interface is messy and visually inconsistent, with so many changes made at the cost of user experience.
HTC Droid DNA : Futures & Specification
The processor of this Smartphone is 1.5 GHz with 2 GB RAM which provides enough speed to mobile devices. It does not have slot for extra SD card but it the internal memory of this phone is as limited as 16 GB and 2 GB of primary memory. The primary camera is of 8 Mega Pixel with autofocus, LED flash and the front camera of 2.1 Mega Pixel for video calling which is considerably very good.
The display of this phone is of 5 inch super LCD3 with capacitive touch screen, 16M colors and multi touch capabilities. The design of this phone is very impressive and totally different from HTC’s previous phones. It is very slim (0.38 inch thin) and sleek weighing just around 140 grams and still offering 5 inch display. The battery is standard Li-Ion 2020 mAh with Stand-by time up to 353 hrs and Talk time around 12.5 hrs.
Plus Points
The main merits of this phone are its outstanding display, high-quality finishing, incredible cameras and LED indicators on front and back of phone.
Minus Points
Some demerits are also there namely its inconsistent and glitch -filled performance, inferior call quality, limited battery life, limited internal storage and no slot for external storage; messy and visually inconsistent User Interface and its unfavorable button and port configuration.
Conclusion
After analyzing all the features and merits-demerits we are on conclusion that the HTC Droid DNA is a mixed package. On the positive side, the phone has a distinctive and solid shiny build, an excellent display and a superior camera configuration.
However it has inconsistent and at times somewhat poor performance along with substandard call quality, limited battery life and limited storage as no extra SD card slot is available for expansion. Also its User Interface and the power and volume buttons are giving indistinct feel and response.
