Antivirus 360 is an aggressive virus that is designed to install a fake anti-virus software that will inevitably destroy the operations and subsequent usability of Windows. Antivirus 360 is derived from an earlier version of the malware virus known as the Antivirus 2009 and infects computer systems through downloads files and or programs from unsecured websites.

Once the Antivirus 360 malware comes in contact with a computer system, the virus becomes installed into the Windows registry and gives off false alarms about files that have been infected by viruses. The malware purports that the only way to clean such files is through purchasing the full Antivirus 360 program. The files that the malware prompts users as having been infected are files important to the functioning of Windows and should they be removed would render one’s Computer System as inoperable.

If a person suspects that his or her system has become infected with Antivirus 360 malware, it is advisable to not download or purchase a fully licensed version of Antivirus 360. The purchased Antivirus 360 software will not clean or remove the virus from one’s Computer System but will ultimately destroy it.

Instead, if persons suspect that they may have contracted the virus, they may follow the following guidelines to safely remove the malware manually.

Instructions for Uninstalling Antivirus 360

1. The first step to getting rid of the Antivirus 360 is to get rid of the Antivirus 360 malware processes. In order to kill the malware processes, one first has to know exactly what processes are associated with the Anti-virus 360 Malware. An internet search for Antivirus 360 Malware Processes can help users to find such files.

  • After deciphering exactly which files are the malicious Antivirus 360 malware files, users can go ahead and press Ctrl+Shift+Esc (these buttons should be pressed in combination that is simultaneously). This will open what is known as the Windows Task Manager.
  • After opening the Windows task manager, select the process tab. The process tab will show all the processes that are operating at that time on the Computer System. Users should look for and select the malicious processes (as they have been revealed by the web search). These processes may be selected individually (one by one) or collectively (using the CTRL feature) depending on how they are located in proximity to each other.
  • Upon selecting each individual process or group of malicious processes, select end process. After one has completely removed all these processes, click save settings and exit.

2. Because the Antivirus 360 affects Windows registry files by trying to modify them, the registry keys need to be removed in order to stop the malware from functioning in this regard by completely removing them. The programme Registry Mechanic Software from PC Tools can help in this regard by scanning and removing registry defects.

3. Antivirus 360 malware files can also be removed by unregistering harmful DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files. Again, one has to be aware of which files are the harmful malware ones and which ones are not.

  • To remove these files, one simply click the Start button at the bottom left hand of your screen and select the run option.
  • After selecting run, type cmd for Command Prompt and then press OK.
  • In the Command Prompt, type regsvr32 /u [dll_name] and press unregister to delete. Please note that the word name in this example represents where one should type the actual name of the file to be unregistered.

Tips and Warnings

  • Because of how Antivirus 360 attaches itself to computer systems it is recommended that computer users do not download any files and or programmes from unsecured websites.
  • It is not recommended that average users attempt to remove registry defects manually as one could end up deleting a file that is critical to the functioning of Windows and by extension one’s computer.
